The project can be viewed in 3 phases:
PHASE 1
- Phase 1 begins when the pioneering families start combined classes.
- Best described as a co-operation of home-schooling families, open to pupils outside of these families as much as resources allow.
- Needs at least 6 ‘missionary’ teachers, most of whom are parents of children in the school.
- This phase begins the process of building the infrastructure required for registration.
- Without external funding, this phase requires 18 pupils to be self-supporting.
PHASE 2
- Phase 2 begins when a qualified principal is employed.
- The principal takes over all roles of development (curricula, staffing, training, policies, scheduling, programs, rules, financial & facilities management, etc).
- In this phase a principal and 3 qualified teachers (which can include existing ‘missionary’ teachers who are qualified) are formally employed to bolster the other ‘missionary’ teachers.
- Without external funding, this phase requires 49 pupils to be self-supporting.
PHASE 3
- Phase 3 begins when the school offers Grade R to Grade 12 entirely ‘in-house’.
- The principal is supported by minimum 9 qualified teachers.
- School has significant premises.
- Without external funding, this phase requires 152 pupils to be self-supporting.
