How Trinity Christian Academy collects, uses and protects the personal information you share with us through this website.
Who we are
Trinity Christian Academy (“Trinity”, “we”, “us”) is a classical Christian school meeting at New Covenant Baptist Church, Corner of Garden Road and Pine Road, Orchards, Johannesburg, 2192. We are the responsible party for the personal information described in this policy, as defined in the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
What we collect
We only collect personal information that you choose to give us through this website:
- Contact form: your name, email address and message.
- Application form: the parent or guardian’s name, email address and phone number, the church you attend, the names and current grades of the children applying, and anything else you choose to tell us.
- Newsletter: your email address, if you tick the newsletter box.
Because applications include information about children, we only accept them from a parent or legal guardian, who gives consent on the child’s behalf.
Why we collect it
- To answer your enquiry.
- To consider your application, arrange an interview and communicate with you about admission.
- To send you our newsletter, only if you have asked for it.
We process this information with your consent, which you give when you submit a form. We do not use it for any other purpose, and we never sell it.
Who can see it
Form submissions are emailed to the school office and stored securely on our website. Only the school’s administrators can see them. Our website hosting and email providers store this information on our behalf and may not use it for their own purposes. We do not share your information with anyone else unless the law requires us to.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries only as long as we need to answer them. We keep application information for as long as the application is being considered and, if your child is enrolled, for as long as the law and the school’s records require. You may ask us to delete your information at any time, subject to those requirements.
How we protect it
Our website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, access to submissions is limited to authorised school staff, and we take reasonable technical and organisational steps to keep your information safe.
Cookies
This website does not use analytics, tracking or advertising cookies. The map link on our contact page opens Google Maps in a new tab, where Google’s own privacy policy applies.
Your rights
Under POPIA you may:
- ask what personal information we hold about you, and receive a copy;
- ask us to correct or delete it;
- withdraw your consent at any time, including unsubscribing from the newsletter;
- object to how we process your information.
To do any of these, email us at admin@trinityacademy.org.za. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa).
